3 day FAW 1 day EFAW Refresher Courses
To ensure everyone present on your site is fully cared for in the event of an accident or medical emergency, we offer an intensive, three day NUCO First Aid at Work training course. We also offer a two day refresher course to maintain your employees’ knowledge and keep them competent and confident in their abilities. During the First Aid at Work course, candidates will participate in theory lessons, practical demonstrations and exercises, all of which are supported and illustrated by the use of power point presentations and safety DVDs covering:

The main aim of the course is to train your selected employees to the required standard as directed by the HSE in the duties of an emergency first aider. They will enable the emergency first aider to render the initial help necessary to give a casualty treatment for sudden injury or illness, until more professional help arrives.
At the end of each course, the successful candidates will receive a NUCO accredited certificate approved by the Health and Safety Executive evidencing their capabilities a first aider.
The RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is the most awarded lifeguard qualification in the United Kingdom and Ireland and is also internationally recognised. The NPLQ is an excellent starting point for anyone looking for a career in the leisure industry.
The NPLQ course is a minimum of 36 hours long followed by a practical assessment on pool lifeguard theory, pool rescue, first aid and CPR. There is also the option to obtain additional qualifications during an NPLQ course including:

Automated External Defibrillation Certificate (AED) (Additional 1.5 hours training)

Lifeguard Course Pre-Requisites
Every candidate attending a NPLQ course must be 16-years-old at the time of taking the NPLQ final assessment and be able to:

Jump / dive into deep water
-
Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
-
Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
-
Tread water for 30 seconds
-
Surface dive to the floor of the pool
-
Climb out unaided without ladder / steps and where the pool design permits

National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC)
The NRASTC is a supervision and rescue qualification for teachers working on the poolside or in the water during programmed activities, such as a swimming lesson. It is suitable for teachers working in a wide range of swimming pools, including pools where the water is deeper than the teacher’s standing depth.
